Lawrence Pinter, Peter Zrymiak, and Gail Pinter attended the Canadian Environmental & Engineers Executive Conference in Vancouver again this past week. This is Second Annual conference and it continues to grow attracting representatives from more than 60 small, medium, large, and mega firms who provide environmental and engineering services to the public. It was an intense day and a half of panels and presentations on a variety of topics including benchmarking, upcoming trends, engineer/client relationship, First Nation engagement, etc. There were many opportunities to network during and after the sessions. What is National Indigenous Peoples Day?June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The Canadian Constitution recognizes these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples.
Although these groups share many similarities, they each have their own distinct heritage, language, cultural practices and spiritual beliefs. In cooperation with Indigenous organizations, the Government of Canada chose June 21, the summer solstice, for National Aboriginal Day, now known as National Indigenous Peoples Day. For generations, many Indigenous peoples and communities have celebrated their culture and heritage on or near this day due to the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year. PINTER is commited to celebrating and working along side Indigenous communities as we have in the past and will continue to do in the future. PINTER is proud to have been apart of the Whitecap First Nation's initial discussions with the Saskatchewan Ministry Of Environment and in the development of their Environmental Management and Protection Plan, which is a coordinating piece of policy that assists Whitecap with its internal management and protection initiatives.

https://www.canadianconsultingengineer.com/digital-edition/ Pinter has been awarded at the annual Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards gala on October 23rd, 2018. Jessica and Wesley accepted the award at the gala in Ottawa and the award was for PINTER's work on Enhanced Anaerobic Bioremediation.
Keli was honored to speak at the National Aboriginal Land Managers Association National gathering in Whitehorse. Keli spoke about PINTER's work with Opaskwayak Cree Nation and the development of their Environmental Management and Protection System and novel First Nation Environmental Law Regime.
Our President, Lawrence Pinter, made his annual trip to Wollaston Lake to carry out the Barge Safety Inspection and some safety drills. This is a trip that Lawrence looks forward to every year. He enjoys working with the barge crews and Hatchet Lake's Safety Manager, Cecilia Kkaikka. This year at the end of the work day Henry Dyck took him fishing for Lake Trout. There was success.
